Update on my translated fic

So the owner of the Italian message board I mentioned in my previous post answered my email. She's also the one who'd translated my fic and she kindly explained it to me that a friend of hers had sent my fic to her in a text file and she hadn't credited me because she didn't have a link to my LJ or my email addy. I'm still not sure why'd they listed my beta as the author, but that's not important anymore.

Now I'm listed as the author, although I still have no link to my LJ, even though I've asked for it. *sigh* Well, I guess I'll have to be patient some more.

but she still shouldn't have posted it without the consent and knowledge of the author.

her friend gakked your fic and sent it to her, but didn't mention who wrote it, or attach contact information or you LJ addy?

so not cool, IMO.

i'm generally okay approving my fics to be translated. the only thing i request is a link once it's posted so i can tell by the replies if the fic was translated well...

i'll let it go, since you have, but while i get that posting stuff for free on the internet has it's dangers, and this is one of them... once someone is made aware of the issue, she should have fixed it, not made excuses.

SUN.

I couldn't agree more. I guess it's a question of manners. She was nice in her email, apologized and promised to correct her mistake, I just don't like the half-assed way she did it. Not to mention I asked for a translation of the replies on my fic as well. Maybe she's just busy. But she's not off the hook yet.
